My name is Anna Hodgkinson. I am a graduate of Novosibirsk State Music College, Russia. I have been teaching piano for more than 25 years; first in Russia and then in England in private schools and at my home piano studio.
Last year I turned 50 and began to compose! I suppose the tunes have always been there but I just didn’t allow myself to spent time to write them down and develop them into something bigger than just a momentarily passing thought. And now I can’t stop!
I am finding so much joy in creating and sharing my music. It is by sharing and getting involved with the international musician’s community I gained so many wonderful talented friends and found so much inspiration for teaching and composing.
About the album "mood ring"
“Some years ago, on holidays, browsing in seaside shops I found a mood ring,
which is supposed to change its colour dependent upon your mood. Well, I am not sure that it really worked since not everything that happens on holidays is connected with real life. Still l loved the idea of reflecting my thoughts, memories and moods in colours and sounds. When the album was beginning to take shape I couldn’t think of a better name for it.”
